JAPE grammar tutorial

    It might be worth noting that JAPE isn't specifically a "semantic web" tool - it is used for all sorts of text analysis tasks...

    I am the new user of GATE..
    I going to develop the NER for other language by using GATE..
    Can anyone know how to use the JAPE debugger??
    How to debug and compile the JAPE rule?? besides using the JAPE debugger??
    Really need your help...

    Apple Fong,
    As of Version 5.1 the Jape debugger is not supported. However the best place to look for an alternative or more information is the gate user's mailing list at http://gate.ac.uk/mail//

    Hi Dhaval,

    I'm trying to embed some of the Gate api inside a IE application, without calling the Gate.init(). So far I've been able to make ANNIE tokenizer and Gazetter work, but are having problem with Jape. I got "Error while parsing the grammar " when running this snippet:

    AnnotationSet runTransducer(Document doc, String japeFile) throws Exception {
    URL japeUrl = new URL(japeFile);
    Transducer transducer = new Transducer();
    transducer.setEncoding("UTF-8");
    transducer.setGrammarURL(japeUrl);
    transducer.setEnableDebugging(true);
    transducer.setOutputASName("Output");
    transducer.init();
    transducer.setDocument(doc);
    transducer.execute();
    return doc.getAnnotations("Output");

    }

    "jpaeUrl" was valid.

    Could you help?

    HI DHAVAL,

    I'm trying to create a JAPE grammar rule but i have a problem, i need to analyze the text in sentences and display the results of the analyze of those sentences. I delimit the files of sentenceSplitter according for my use but What more i need for realize this analyze?
    Can you help me please??
